Each hazmat classifier kit contains strips, which, when exposed to the unknown chemical, will change color. After, match this to the laminated chart. Unknown or known chemicals, acids and bases pose a hazard when spilled or spreading in a work area. Contain any of these chemicals by neutralizing them. All hazmat neutralizers solidify the spill to prevent it from spreading and neutralize it at the same time. Apply a hazmat neutralizer from the edge of the spill inward. While the contact between the chemical and neutralizer may produce foam or generate heat or gas, the change of color indicates when the chemical is fully neutralized. The result is a gel that is easy to contain and clean up. As a polymer, the neutralizer is non-toxic, non-corrosive, and non-hazardous and comes with absorbents to assist with the cleanup. Use with most chemicals except for hydrofluoric acid.
